BIOGRAPHY

Svartfell was created in 2001 by Valhgarm to play Black Metal in the old school vein.
In 2003 the demo "Beyond the Realms of Death" is unleashed. First self-released on CD-R, then released by Drakkar on tape in 2007.

In 2006 the second demo "The Sentence of Satan" is released on CD by Warfront Productions limited to 666 copies and considered as an album by the label. In 2007 Drakkar has re-released it on tape limited to 1000 copies.

In 2009 "Day of the Unholy Massacre", the real first full-length album of Svartfell is released by Drakkar on CD. The cover is made by Chris Moyen (Beherit, Blasphemy, Archgoat, Necromantia, Vermeth...).

In 2010 "Altar of Blasphemy", a new 4 tracks demo tape is released by the Australian label Zinarthan Productions. The music reveal more Thrash/Death influences from the 80's.

In 2012 a unique concept album called "Apocryphe Apocalypse" is released after 3 years of research, about apocryphal writings, apocalyptic revelations, ancient knowledges before all the civilisations and mysterious esoteric spirit of the templars connected with enigmatic french history as Rennes-le-Chateaux, the Grail...
Strong epic moments and mid tempo riffs for a great raw heretic black metal, old school sound in the style of the 90's Scandinavian scene laced with a glaucous atmosphere and Svartfell's mark.

In 2015 Valhgarm release an Ep back to the roots for Svartfell, raw sound, aggressive tracks, with some morbid atmospheres and melodies for a unique French old school Black Metal.
No compromises, underground and true to its style Svartfell is back with vengeance and war! The lyrics start a new era for Svartfell, making references to french occultism and history.
A lost excellent track about the dark story of the templars from the Apocryphe Apocalypse album has been added as bonus track!"
